BIOTIC
CONDITIONS
| Rodents abundance evaluation: |
average
Breeding conditions:
| Breeding conditions were favourable: early warm spring, low predation rate, low flood. Arctic Foxes and Snowy Owls were scarce and made little harm to birds. Large gulls and skuas bred successfully, and composed diet to a substantial extent from waders. Wader migration was not prolonged, and they started nesting at a relatively high density in the second week of June. Predominated Red Phalarope, common were Ruff, Pectoral Sandpiper, Dunlin, Temminck's Stint. Hatching was synchronized, and broods were regularily met. Wader reproductive success was visually evaluated as high.

Rodent dynamics:
| Lemmings were usial in spring, but declined after flood.

Summary
of fauna studies: |
| data were collected on habitat preferences, distribution and numbers of eiders (S. spectabilis, S. fischerii and P.stelleri) and Branta bernicla. Reproduction efficiency was evaluated: egg-laying dates, clutch size, reproductive success.
